Science of Diving
The course provides detailed information on physics, physiology, decompression theory, the underwater environment, and diving equipment.
Participants will gain an in-depth understanding of the physical forces and pressures encountered during a dive, as well as how our bodies respond to the effects of depth. The course also covers currents, visibility, and marine life, all of which influence safe diving. Additionally, it addresses the operation and maintenance of diving equipment. This course is a fundamental component of SSI professional diving training and is also a mandatory part of some Extended Range programs.
Prerequisite: OWD certification
The course does not include any dives.
